CD welding, high-strength, coated steels
The requirements applicable to the projection welding of hot-formed steel are evaluated differently. Whether it is considered difficult or not naturally initially depends on the actual components and the requirements applicable to these. It is therefore often not only a question of whether the weld - once produced - will hold. Instead, it is the framework conditions that cause the difficulties in the production. From a metallurgic perspective, the majority of modern steels are uncritical in principle.
The aforementioned conditions cannot be kept stable, and the welding process must therefore compensate for this. In the past, only CD welding has proven successful in this regard, and this is clear from the numerous references.
